City Eye exists to promote film and video culture within Southampton and across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. We undertake diverse work in the community on video projects, support filmmakers and offer training courses, workshops and a programme of networking events which incorporate screenings. Our web site provides a wide range of information and advice for visitors.

The range of people with whom we work in the community is very broad. Projects include, but are not restricted to, work with young and older people, people with disabilities and people from ethnic minority groups. For many of the people with whom we work issues of social inclusion and exclusion are paramount.

Training is offered in areas such as screenwriting, basic video production and editing and is attended by both beginners and those with previous experience of work in film and video.

City Eye is supported by Southampton City Council and Screen South, the Film Council’s film and media agency in the South-East.
