The British Art Show 5

23 JUNE – 20 AUGUST 2000

The John Hansard Gallery, University of Southampton along with the Millais Gallery, Southampton Institute and Southampton City Art Gallery is hosting The British Art Show 5.

This summer the John Hansard Gallery, along with the Millais Gallery and the Southampton City Art Gallery, will take part in the city’s biggest contemporary art exhibition ever.

Exhibiting over 5o artists and 180 works The British Art Show 5 considers the best in recent British Art produce over the last five years.

The John Hansard Gallery will be exhibiting a selection of 11 works by some of Britain’s best artists.

The artists being shown are:

Art & Language, Martin Creed, Jeremy Deller & Karl Holmquist, Graham Fagen, Liam Gillick, Kenny Macleod, Lucy Mackenzie, Connor McFeely, David Musgrave, Paul Noble and Padraig Timoney.

Works exhibited at the John Hansard Gallery will include painting, photography, video and installation

The catalogue which accompanies the exhibition will be available from the Gallery bookshop at the special exhibition price of £15.
