education
policy and proposal

The John Hansard Gallery seeks to integrate education and interpretation into every part of the organisation’s artistic and curatorial practice. Reflecting the interpretive nature of exhibitions at the John Hansard Gallery, the education programme works to extend access, mediation and research for the benefit of core and new audiences. The main goals of the education programme are to:-

  • promote access to the John Hansard Gallery’s exhibitions by a cross section of local, national and international communities including individuals, groups, organisations and educational institutions
  • communicate the work of the John Hansard Gallery to a wider audience profile, helping them to interpret and contribute to the issues its exhibitions address
  • reflect the Gallery’s academic context and encourage debate by underpinning the programme with original and critical research
